"Students are motivated to learn when the instructor takes an invested interest in them. Therefore, I work hard to build strong relationships with each of my students. My goals as a teacher are to present students with relevant information, teach them the necessary skills for them to be successful in their careers, and hold them accountable for learning the required information.

I have been at Southeast Missouri State University for over 15 years. I find teaching very rewarding in that I get to help students learn and grow in their understanding of human development and family dynamics."

"Originally from Missouri, I graduated from Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) with a B.S. in psychology in 2016. All of my graduate eduction took place in Texas.

In my applied and educational-focused program of research, I conduct research aimed at 1) identifying factors that impact students' learning and learning environments, 2) developing strategies to improve students' learning, and 3) identifying pedagogical tools instructors can implement in their classes to support students' learning.

Outside of work, I usually am hanging out with my family. I have a 4-year-old son named Adam who loves to explore and has an insatiable curiosity for how things work. My favorite hobbies are playing video games, hiking, jogging, reading, and hanging out with my family."

Dr. Reynolds leads the Online Psychotherapy Process Lab. His research investigates how online psychotherapy compares to face-to-face therapy, with a focus on the emotional experiences during and after sessions and the dynamics of the therapeutic relationship between client and therapist.

In addition to his work on psychotherapy, Dr. Reynolds explores how mental illness is portrayed in popular media, such as television, film, and radio, and how these representations can inadvertently stigmatize individuals with psychological disorders. Recently, he has developed a brief measure to assess professor-student rapport in online teaching and is conducting research on evidence-based interventions that enhance the quality of online education for instructors.
